Dogs: old and new rules for those who live with a dog

Who lives with a 4 legs takes care of it from every aspect… from pampering to responsibility towards other people! Here, then, the news from Ministry of Health: new rules and regulations for i dog owners!

Published on Official Gazette, the new rules are for everyone's safety!

  • I pelosi can be registered atcanine registry with an adult, minors cannot have responsibility for a furry person;
  • If the owner cannot take care of the furry and manage it during the day it is a dog sitter, these have civil and criminal liability: if the dog does any harm to people or things, the dog sitter will answer (better, therefore, entrust the four-legged to a person who has achieved a certification);
  • Needs: when the hairy is dirty, it is the human who has to clean to ensure the urban decorum (bags and shovel in hand!);
  • Leash and muzzle: the hairy must always be kept at leash and the length must be no more than one and a half meters, while the muzzle (especially if the furry ones are a little rough) it must always be kept close at hand;
  • patentino: remember that a polite hairy allows us to share many more experiences with him! Dog centers, Municipalities, Veterinary Services and Asl organize courses for dog owners with the release of a license and a certificate of attendance. Furthermore, some municipalities have made the license / certificate of participation in compulsory basic education courses, if the 4 legs are particularly aggressive.

As regards the transportation by car, the law in Italy allows you to transport one or more animals, with the necessary precautions. The furry in the car must not constitute a danger to driving, they can be brought more than one animal only if kept in a special container or in the rear compartment in the driving seat, provided that it is divided by a net or other suitable means.

And for the furry who live in a condominium? The condominium regulation cannot prohibit the presence of the 4 legs in the condominium. The law says it ... however the owner can specify that animals are not allowed in the condominium in the lease.

In addition to the laws in force, one was filed with the Chamber in early 2016 bill from the FareAmbiente association asking for a direct link between the Canine Registry Office of regional competence and lo Family status of the adopter, a solution that demonstrates greater attention to our 4-legged friends and a higher deterrent against abandonment.

The proposal by Walter Rizzetto filed in September, however, calls for the establishment of theNational dog registry and conventioned or free veterinary service for people belonging to the less well-off and for abandoned animals.

Not only that: some Municipalities, from North to South Italy, have encouraged the adoption of stray dogs by proposing different forms, depending on the Municipality, of tax relief.

One step at a time, our beloved 4-legged are gaining their position: an integral part of our family!
