HALITOSIS in dogs and cats

THE VETERINARY INFORMS

The mouth of our animals, like ours, is an environment suitable for the development of microbial flora. In fact, thanks to oral humidity, food residues and constant temperature, this environment is colonized by numerous types of bacteria including streptococci and lactobacilli.

This bacterial load tends to settle on the teeth creating, together with the food remains, aggregates that are called PLATE.

As a consequence of the deposition of salivary mineral salts on these formations, the plaque becomes TARTAR. The latter is solidly linked to the tooth and is very hard, so much so that its removal can only be carried out by the veterinarian through an operation called scaling.

The formation of plaque and tartar can cause phenomena of HALITOSIS, due to the production of foul-smelling bacterial metabolites.

Plaque and tartar, if not properly fought, can turn into more serious problems such as GINGIVITIS (irritation of the gums) which manifests itself as redness, tenderness, bleeding, difficulty in feeding, PERIODONTITIS (inflammation of the tissues surrounding the tooth with consequent dental laxity, bacterial infiltrations, abscesses, loss of teeth), caries and bacterial septicemias.

THE ADVICE OF THE VETERINARY

Mouth diseases are very frequent in our friends, and for this reason it is much more useful TO PREVENT than cure.

The excessive presence of bacteria in the mouth can be caused by multiple pathologies, among which the most common is poor nutrition.

It is therefore advisable to always read the labels of the wet and dry foods we buy. Many of these foods are added with sugars and glucose, substances more suitable for the growth of bacteria that make up plaque. It is recommended to prefer dry foods over wet ones due to the mechanical action that kibble can have on the formation of dental plaque.

Good oral hygiene can help us prevent these problems from getting worse by aggravating the health of our four-legged friend.

PREVENTING and TAKING CARE of the problem by using locally active products can help restore eubiosis (correct ratio of bacteria) in the oral cavity so as to prevent the onset or worsening of tartar, halitosis, gingivitis which can degenerate into periodontitis.

Union BIO responds to chemical synthesis with natural products effective and safe.

These products are the result of scientific research, are enhanced by the UB MATRIX®., and pay particular attention to the synergies between plants, their phytodynamics and phytokinetics, which is why two different formulations, one for dogs and one for cats, precisely to meet the specific needs of the animal, and to avoid unwanted effects.

DENTAL CLEAN DOG e DENTAL CLEAN CAT  they are toothpaste lotions, which contain extracts of precious plants such as Sage and Mint to which a whitening and digestive action is entrusted.

The formulations are from easy to use, safe  and they can be used safely regardless of the age of your pet or its state of health.

It is advisable to use the lotion daily both to reduce the probable development of plaque, but also to avoid the evolution of plaque in tartar and soothe the gums if the inflammation is already in place.

These tips are absolutely not intended to replace the control of the animal by your veterinarian, it must in fact be remembered that in some circumstances other problems, much more serious, can cause the same symptoms. Implementing a good sanitation of the oral cavity cannot therefore replace the specialist check-up if the problem persists, but it can certainly help you prevent more serious problems.
