PLANTS

A little chilli a day….

The name "chili" indicates the fruits belonging to the plants Capsicum, Solanaceae family. These plants are native to South America, but are currently conltivated worldwide!

Among the best known species are the potato fruttescens and Caapicum potato, the only species among which the European Pharmacopoeia recognizes medicinal properties. Their fruits are initially green and turn towards yellow, orange, to end their maturation with a bright red color. This red hue is a consequence of the high concentration of carotenoids, first of all capsanthin.

Nutritional properties

The chili pepper is rich in Vitamins (Vit. C, precursors of Vit.A, PP), mineral salts (potassium, calcium and phosphorus) and flavonoids.

Why is it spicy?

Its spicy flavor is due to the presence of capsaicin, known for its vasodilating, digestive (at low concentrations), analgesic, antioxidant and antibacterial properties

What is it used for in our 4-legged friends?

Il Capsicum annuum it has historically been used orally for its beneficial properties on the circulation, but a safer use is certainly that of the skin as an analgesic in the case of osteoarthritis, arthritis and peripheral neuropathies.

Union BIO uses chilli in an even safer way, taking advantage of its deterrent properties and its spiciness, in No Dog&Cat to reduce the markings of your 4-legged friends, or to keep them away from limited areas of the house or garden! Its natural composition, enriched with chilli, is safe and effective!
