In case of rheumatic pain, arthrosis, tendon inflammation, neck pain, back pain and muscle pain of various types, a great remedy is undoubtfully the devil’s claw (Harpagophytum procumbens).
This precious element from the nature is a perennial herbaceous of the family of the Pedaliacee. Its bizzarre name reminds something hostile, and it derives from the hooked shape of its fruits, which are hard and covered of “claws” often representing a danger for many animals, they are considered “devilish” for the reason that they may get caught on it. Its flowers are red-violet coloured.
Its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties are contained in its active substances (harpagosidi) which are located into their minor lateral roots. Starting from the nations of southern Africa, it has been used in the traditional medicine for ages.
To get even more consistent positive effects, the ideal combination is with another natural anti-inflammatory: Arnica, a plant of the Asteraceae family looking like small annual or herbaceous perennials, having a typical daisy like inflorescence.
The animals may suffer of muscle or tendon pain, as well as humans, they may suffer bruises or trauma evolving into oedema and hematoma. In answer to these problems or in case of intense physical activity of our horses, the scientific staff of UNION B.I.O. created two new formulations: TRAUMAplus and SPRINTplus.
Rich in synergistic plant extracts, enhanced thanks to our MATRICE U.B.® (registered trademark, water extract of Olea europaea, active multivalent phytocomplex), are strengthened compared to Equitrauma and Equisprint, because they precisely contain the devil’s claw, which confers further healthy effects in terms of analgesic and anti-inflammatory qualities.
