CAOLINO, A CLAY TO BE DISCOVERED!

Kaolin is a sedimentary rock consisting mainly of kaolinite. It is a silicate hydrate of aluminum belonging to the clay group.

It has a tender, earthy and dusty appearance, is usually white-gray in color but can also tend to orange and reddish thanks to its variable content of iron oxides.

POSSIBLE USES OF CAOLINE

Kaolin is used in numerous human activities: from construction to the production of ceramics and porcelain, it has always been used in agriculture and especially in the cultivation of olive trees to prevent diseases and as a mechanical barrier against the olive fly: the color on the leaves confuses the insect that does not recognize the tree. Thanks to its numerous properties it is also widely used in the medical field.

PROPERTY OF THE KAOLIN

Kaolin is a white clay with numerous useful properties in the cosmetic field and beyond!

Kaolin has properties:

  • Purifying and natural bactericide
  • Absorbent and therefore useful in case of dermatological disorders
  • Healing and regenerating even in the presence of wounds or irritations
  • Antitoxic chelator capable of trapping harmful substances helping the body to expel them
  • Energizing thanks to its high content in mineral salts and trace elements
  • Mineralizing also useful in case of bone fractures
  • Anti-inflammatory

HOW CAN THE CAOLINO BE USED?

For internal use, kaolin is indicated in case of gastro-intestinal swelling, intoxication, burning and gastritis, thanks to its anti-inflammatory, absorbent properties but also for its ability to adhere to the mucous membranes, creating a natural protective film. It is also able to regulate intestinal transit helping in case of constipation. Its high concentration of mineral salts makes it suitable for fractures or bone disorders.

For external use this white clay is ideal for purifying the skin and strengthening the hair. It is a valid moisturizer able to counteract cellular aging, dryness, cracking, cellulite and stretch marks. It is widely used in cases of dermatosis, acne and seborrhea.

SOME PREPARATIONS BASED ON CAOLINE:

CLAY DRINK

Put a spoonful of ventilated white clay for internal use in a glass and fill ¾ with cold water. Cover the glass with gauze and let it rest for about 12 hours. The "drink" can be prepared in the evening for the morning. After 12 hours, mix with a wooden spoon and drink. Start with small amounts to allow the body to get used to it gradually.

HOW TO MAKE A PURIFYING MASK WITH CAULINE

Mix a spoonful of clay with water until a creamy mixture is obtained, add a moderate quantity of essential oils or essences according to the need (e.g. lavender essential oil for a soothing and relaxing action, tea tree oil for marked antibacterial action, rosehip as a regenerating etc ...), apply on the skin with a brush, leave to dry and rinse gently. After application, the face can be covered with plastic wrap to avoid too rapid evaporation of the water.
